The path to club success
In the course of time

Here we go!
During the well-known crisis, Tobias Schär addressed the question of what happens to all the people in Switzerland who cannot afford the most basic equipment: For example, for distance learning at school. The idea for "Wir lernen weiter" was born.
August 2020
Move
Up to this point, all work was carried out by Tobias alone - in his bedroom in Merenschwand. On 1 August, we "moved" - and Tobias also got a new colleague, Benjamin Brändli.
April 2021
First stints
Over 1,000 laptops were distributed in the very first year. It was quickly realised that this would not work forever. That's why Tobias and Benj were given a small workload so that they could work for the association on a dedicated basis. Until then, Tobias was the president of the association and all work was done on a voluntary basis.
July 2021
Large donations
If you distribute more laptops, you also have to organise more laptops. The association also received its first major donations in 2021. The picture shows a donation in which we received over 500 laptops and numerous monitors. Tobias' car garage was converted into a goods depot for over two years from this point onwards.
March 2022
Growing team
In addition to Tobias and Benj, more people were brought on board. As a result, more and more people joined the club to help out with manual labour. A lot was also done in terms of training: in 2021, the first trainee, Matthew Clements, was trained at the club in a five-week internship.
October 2022
Increase awareness
Over 5,000 laptops have now been distributed, but the organisation is still far from being known everywhere. The team continued to grow and now had the capacity to take part in trade fair visits to better publicise the history and mission.
January 2023
No more space
The capacity of the "Bachweg" site had been reached. The association therefore decided to open a second location, which offers more storage space, but also provides more security and space for offices. This move took place in mid-January 2023 and enabled the association to organise its work even more efficiently from this point onwards.
June 2023

But the office space had to be created first. Former attic rooms had to be prepared so that work could be carried out comfortably. While laptops continued to be processed and dispatched at the second location, we used the summer months to develop the top floor of the former vicarage.
October 2023
It goes on!
With a second location and expanded office space, nothing stood in the way of further growth for our organisation (at least from a logistical perspective). New interns, new employees and process certification demanded a lot from the operational team. But together, these tasks were also masterfully solved.
February 2024
10,000 laptops
An incredible number and probably also a milestone that shows how important our work is for Switzerland. But this is far from over: there are still many people in Switzerland who cannot afford the most basic equipment. We keep on creating!
