Refurbish laptops

💪 The true power of wLw

We do something good for the environment and society. But just because we are an association does not mean that we compromise on safety and professionalism. Here we show our core work.

Where does processing begin?

Actually, directly on collection. For example, an initial document is created for each donation receipt, which records the quantity of devices.

🤷 What is a confirmation of receipt?

This document is a confirmation that we have received goods. It forms part of the overall Deletion documentation.

The appliances then find their way to us in a secure transporter or in sealed and tracked crates.

As soon as the appliances arrive at our premises, a new routine check is carried out. The appliances are then stored in an additionally secured area until further processing.

What happens next?

Now each appliance goes through various work steps:

🏷️ 1 Inventory and preparation
Here, each appliance is given a clear and unambiguous allocation and is inspected for the first time. The first cleaning work is also carried out in this step.
🧼 2. data deletion
Then it's time to get down to business. All data is deleted here, regardless of whether it has already been removed by the donor or not - because we always want to make sure that everything is gone. If a hard drive cannot be deleted, it is destroyed.

More information -> Data deletion
🛠️ 3. Testing and repairs
On the basis of comprehensive Quality controls various device parameters are read out and tested - such as health data from hard drives, batteries and other components. If something needs to be replaced, this is done here.
✅ 4. categorisation and storage
Once a device has passed all our tests, it is ready for further use. It is allocated a place in the warehouse and our system knows which requirements this appliance can be used for. It can now remain in a storage cabinet until it is dispatched.

🤷 How is a device then used?

You can find out on this page -> Pass on laptops
