Reinstall operating system

On this page we will show you how to reinstall another operating system or your current one on your laptop.

The procedure

1. download the desired operating system

Download the operating system of your choice from a secure source. Here is a selection:

• Zorin OS (Core)
• Windows 11

You have done this correctly if you now have an .ISO file in your download folder.

2. install the operating system on a USB stick

The .ISO file alone cannot be used. You must install this ISO on a USB stick.

If you do not have another laptop available, you can also use an Android mobile phone to carry out the installation. Use for this EtchDroid. Here also a Instruction video.

The programme you are using will tell you whether you have successfully installed the .ISO file on the stick.

3. install operating system via USB stick

You must now complete the installation via USB stick. Insert the installed USB stick into your laptop and start the device.

After switching on, your device will start. Press the corresponding button here to boot from the USB stick (Boot Options).

Here are the buttons for some of the common laptop brands to select the so-called boot options:

• HP: F9
• Lenovo: F12
• Dell: F12

If you cannot find the right button, simply enter your laptop model and «Boot Options» on the Internet. You will quickly find what you need to press.

Then select the installed USB stick from the start media menu. The name may vary depending on the model.

Then follow the instructions of the operating system to complete the installation.

As soon as the installation screen of the desired operating system starts, you've done it. Now follow the instructions on your screen.
