This process is exactly the same for Windows 11 and Windows 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-danger\">\ud83d\ude25 <strong>ATTENTION: Data loss<\/strong>!<br><br>In any case, make sure that your most important data is stored on a USB stick or somewhere else. Once the reset process is started, your data will be lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If Windows still starts up (Reset)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-accordion wp-block-hb-accordion\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>1. switch off the laptop completely.<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Make sure it is actually switched off (press the start button for 5\u201310 seconds).<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>2. switch the laptop on and off again<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Switch on the laptop. As soon as the Windows loading icon appears, press and hold the power button. The laptop will switch off again. Repeat this process until a message saying \u00abPlease wait\u00bb or \u00abRepair mode\u00bb appears (this should happen after 2\u20133 attempts).<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>3. reset the PC<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">A screen should now appear. This is Recovery Mode. Go to \u00abAdvanced options\u00bb, select \u00abTroubleshoot\u00bb twice, and then choose \u00abReset this PC\u00bb (local reinstallation). Now follow the on-screen instructions.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-success\"><strong>\ud83d\udcaa Made it! <\/strong><br><br>Your laptop will now be reset. Sit back and wait until the installation is complete. You will then be able to set up the device again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If Windows no longer starts (reinstall)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Create Windows 10 USB Boot Stick\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NWfr63Bcpyo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>That's what you need:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Other laptop\/PC with active Windows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>USB stick (min. 8GB)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About half an hour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-danger\"><strong>\ud83d\udcbe Please note!<\/strong><br><br>All data on the USB stick will be lost. Make sure that you have not saved any important data on the stick!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-accordion wp-block-hb-accordion\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>1. download the Windows Media Creation Tool<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Use your other PC to search the internet for \u00abMedia Creation Tool Windows\u00bb. Make sure you\u2019re on a Microsoft website and only download it from there.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>2. follow the instructions<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">You will now be asked to insert a USB stick. All further instructions will be displayed on the screen.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>3. start broken laptop with USB stick<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Everything should now be ready for a new installation. Insert the USB stick into your broken laptop and go to the so-called \u00abBoot Options\u00bb. <br><br>You can usually call these up by pressing one of the following buttons directly at the start:<br><br>- F9 (HP)<br>- ESC (many others)<br><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>4. perform a new installation<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">The installation should be self-explanatory. If you encounter problems or have questions, you will quickly find answers on the Internet.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\"><strong>\ud83e\udd37 Can't you start with the stick? <\/strong><br><br>If the USB stick is not displayed afterwards, you may have had to adjust the settings in the BIOS\/UEFI.
